Crisis Management Presentation for Society of Quality Assurance
Dr.
Weingand delivered the keynote address (
Lessons in Leadership for Crisis Management) at the 26th annual meetings of the Society of Quality Assurance in Cincinnati, OH on April 27, 2010. This presentation summarized key learnings from management of the
2007 wet pet food recall, the largest consumer package goods product
recall in history, that affected over 100 pet food brands globally. Dr. Weingand
was the global crisis team leader for P&G Pet Care, the pet food
company that first detected the pet health issue, discovered the pet
food ingredient contaminants (melamine and cyanuric acid), and helped
the U.S. FDA define the toxicologic mechanism and resolve the issue.

External Relations for Innovation
Bringing the "outside in"
is essential for innovation to be truly disruptive and break-through in
the human and pet health categories. Experienced guidance for
pre-clinical and clinical research in product development is highly
valuable to support regulatory submissions and new product claims that
are really meaningful to your target consumers. Effective external
scientific communications and professional relations are also essential
for credentialing new health care products to convince medical and
veterinary professionals of the validity of new product claims and drive
product recommendations to their consumer clients. Once in the market,
preventing and managing business issues and crises are extremely
important to build and maintain brand equity and loyalty.
If you don't have
this expertise or capability in-house, we can help you! The
SciComPro® team has extensive industry experience in new health care
product research & development, influencer marketing, and external
relations. See
